Propane leaks can cause massive destruction with high
velocities, often without fire damage. Low damage on the structure is common.
Natural Gas Explosions
Natural gas explosions tend to create less damage than
propane, but can still cause walls to collapse and debris to be cause damage to
adjacent structures.
Underground Migration of Propane
Propane is a heavy gas and can migrate underground long distances, until an ignition source is found. The actual leak can be found a distance away from the structure.
Snow loading
Snow loading can cause gas lines to break and leaks to occur.
Snow removal
Snow removal operations can damage outside meters and manifolds.
Intentional Damage
This gas line was removed and then reconnected to cause an intentional explosion
Hodge Services has investigated all types of propane and
natural gas losses, and has the experience to test all systems and components
involved in those type cases. Our laboratory has specialized equipment to test
all gas lines, regulators, appliances, and valves, on-site or in the laboratory.
